Great Plains Beekeepers - Bee Fest

Information

Bee Fest is a one day eductional event to inform the community about beekeeping and the honey bee. For those that are new to beekeeping, we will be discussing how to get started and what to do after you get bees. Discussions about current issues in beekeeping will be available for those that are wanting to expand their beekeeping knowledge. There will be hive inspections, a swarm demonstration, and hands on activities for the kiddos; weather permitting.

This year, our guest speaker is Greg Hannaford. He has been keeping bees since the 1990s and is now keeping about 400 hives with his wife Shelly. Greg serves the American Beekeeping Federation as the Chairman of the education committee.

Please bring your own protective equipment for the look in the hives. Children under 6 should be with a guardian at all times.
